PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v IPSWICH (LC)
KING’S Lynn will book their place in the League Cup Final if they defeat local rivals Ipswich at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Monday).
Back-to-back wins over Peterborough have put the Stars in control of the Southern group, and they now need one victory from this week’s home and away clashes with the Witches to confirm top position.
Ipswich have an injury and illness crisis with Cameron Heeps and Paul Starke unwell and Erik Riss out after suffering a bruised coccyx in a weekend crash. The Witches bring in Tero Aarnio and Kasper Andersen to guest, and operate rider replacement for Riss.
King’s Lynn boss Alex Brady said: “I can’t wait for Monday night, and I’d urge everyone to come along once again because it’s going to be one hell of a night.
“We’ve got the League Cup Final in our sights, to beat Peterborough home and away was fantastic, and now if we can get the job done on Monday we can go to Ipswich with no pressure.
“We had a great crowd on Thursday and the racing was spectacular, the team we’ve got is brilliant, so get behind them and I’m sure they will deliver.”
Witches boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “For us it’s a dead rubber as such as in progressing through the group, but we have two meetings this week against King’s Lynn and both of them will be big meetings for the boys to show us a bit more than last week at home especially.
“We need to get ready for our league campaign because it’s been a slow start and the boys need to show what they’ve got. We’re into the season now, they’re doing plenty of meetings, so the start of the season is over, and we need to start performing.”
KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Thomas Jorgensen, Josh Pickering, Lewis Kerr, Richard Lawson, Richie Worrall, Jack Thomas.
IPSWICH: Jason Doyle, Tero Aarnio, Troy Batchelor, Erik Riss R/R, Danny King, Kasper Andersen, Anders Rowe.
