PROGRESS FOR BRUMMIES

BIRMINGHAM have agreed terms with a fifth rider for the club’s new era – but won’t reveal his name until all the paperwork is in place.

Club boss Laurence Rogers has been talking to contacts worldwide, and current regulations regarding visas and other travel issues are complicating the process, with the Brummies’ opening fixture at Leicester in the KO Cup on March 26.

Rogers said: “It’s been complicated, and you just can’t go out and sign a rider in two minutes these days.

“We are grateful to our contacts around the world who have offered advice and opinion, and we now have an agreement in place with a rider who is an exciting talent.

“But I won’t offer any names until everything on the paperwork side is in place. I apologise to any fans who are running out of patience because I sound like a stuck record going over and over again, but we’re getting there.”
