KENT LATEST

KENT Speedway have issued the following statement:

“As explained in Len Silver’s statement dated 1st. November, it is understood there remains at this point no agreement in place to allow Speedway to continue at Central Park.

“With professional riders eager to make their racing arrangements for next season, any idea of racing at Championship level in 2022 has had to be discarded.

“It was at that point that Len Silver announced his retirement, with the intention of finding a new younger person to take his place as Kent Speedway promoter.

“That search continues, but is unlikely to reach any conclusion until an agreement with the landlords is in place.

“It has been suggested by a representative of the stadium owners Arena Racing Company [ARC] that the local Council do not want Speedway at Central Park. However, as there is Full Planning Permission with no suggestion of any failure to uphold the tight restrictions in place, Len Silver considers this to be unlikely with there having been no complaints received by the club.

“As soon as news becomes clearer, another statement will be issued and the club apologise for the lack of clarity.”
