MONARCHS MOVE FOR CRANG

EDINBURGH have released Joe Lawlor from their Rising Star position and replaced him with Luke Crang.

Lawlor made his final Monarchs appearance in Friday’s abandoned KO Cup tie with Birmingham, with the club making the change in time for next week’s Southern tour to Plymouth and Poole.

Crang recently returned to the sport having raced mainly for Coventry Storm in 2013-15, and scored a paid maximum for Berwick Bullets against Mildenhall last weekend.

He said: “This is what I wanted to happen. It might have happened a bit quicker than I thought it would, but it was what I was aiming for. I’m definitely serious about this.

“I had started with a couple of second halves, since when I have ridden one match and had one rained-off match. I had been aiming for double figures in my comeback match but was obviously pleased to score a maximum.”
