KENNETT BACK ON SONG FOR EAGLES

EASTBOURNE star Edward Kennett blasted back to form in a 54-36 victory over Scunthorpe at Arlington.

Kennett raced to a 15-point maximum as the Eagles pulled clear in the second half of the meeting, with fellow heat-leaders Lewis Kerr (12) and Richard Lawson (11+2) also hitting double-figures.

Thomas Jorgensen racked up 14 points for the Scorpions, who remain second in the Championship table.

Kennett said: “I am over the moon. I have been struggling and there’s been a lack of confidence, sharpness and not riding enough, maybe.

“It got me down at one point. I nearly threw it all in. Everything I was trying kept backfiring.

“I went back, sat down, made some changes in myself and tried to think more positively about it. I shouldn’t have been riding the way I was, and I hold my hand up.”
