PREVIEW: IPSWICH v SHEFFIELD (Prem)
IPSWICH are set to be at full strength for their home Premiership clash with Sheffield tonight (Thursday).
Australian signing Jordan Stewart is in line to make his Witches debut after missing their opening two fixtures due to visa paperwork issues.
Adam Ellis makes his debut for the Tigers, who won the Championship league title at Foxhall in 2017, but Jack Holder is out due to travel complications back in Poland, with rider-replacement in operation.
Ipswich boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “Sheffield bring a very strong team, and they must be pre-season favourites for the title. They have had the advantage with the team building, so the pressure will really be on them all year.
“I’m sure they will fancy their chances of getting a result but the way we have performed over the first two meetings shows we are more than capable of taking the win and causing an upset.”
Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We enjoyed some great meetings with them in the Championship, and it’s great to see two clubs with such a rich history in the sport now in the top level.
“They look a good side and I know our manager Simon Stead and the lads are expecting a really tough night, but after seeing meetings cancelled they’re keen to get going.”
IPSWICH: Jason Crump, Jordan Stewart, Cameron Heeps, Jake Allen, Danny King, Anders Rowe, Drew Kemp.
SHEFFIELD: Troy Batchelor, Jack Holder R/R, Kyle Howarth, Justin Sedgmen, Adam Ellis, James Wright, Josh Bates.
