CUBS AND ROYALS DRAW

KENT boosted their NDL title hopes with a 45-45 draw at Leicester – despite finishing the meeting with just three riders.

The Royals have completed their away schedule ten points and are eight adrift of leaders Berwick with their full home schedule to come.

Alex Spooner (unwell), Alex Spooner (concussion) and Vinnie Foord (machinery) were all withdrawn but the visitors could still have won but for a superb ride by home captain Joe Thompson to pass Ryan Kinsley and Dan Gilkes in Heat 15,

Thompson scored 12+1 and brother Dan added to in the Cubs’ third home draw of the season, whilst Kinsley (14+1) and Gilkes (13+1) led the way for the Royals.
