PREVIEW: BRITISH U19 FINAL, SCUNTHORPE
DREW Kemp goes for a hat-trick of titles as Scunthorpe stage the re-arranged British Under-19 Final at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday).
Kemp won his second title at the same venue last year, with the Scorpions stepping in to host the event again after the abandonment at Mildenhall last month.
Fellow top-flight Rising Stars Leon Flint and Jordan Palin are also included, along with 2020 runner-up Dan Gilkes.
Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I’m delighted to have some of the country’s most promising youngsters at the Eddie Wright Raceway to contest the British Under-19 title.
“By rights, we shouldn’t have been the venue this year but when the original staging at Mildenhall was abandoned last month, it’s ended up back here again.
“Once the Mildenhall promotion revealed they no longer wished to hold it, I stepped in to bring it to Scunthorpe, as this is a prestigious meeting that has been held every year since 2004, when it was the British Under-18 Championship, and it’s important was still held this season.”
Adult and concessions admission prices for the event are £2 cheaper than for a normal Scorpions home meeting the EWR.
Re-admission tickets from the Mildenhall staging are not valid, and anyone requiring a refund from that meeting should visit mildenhall-speedway.com for details.
