PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v SHEFFIELD (Prem)

BELLE Vue host Sheffield in tonight’s (Monday) televised fixture which could see the final Premiership play-off place officially confirmed.

The Aces have already qualified, and the Tigers are firmly in the box seat to join them after winning last Thursday’s reverse fixture 49-41 at Owlerton.

Sheffield’s place in the top four will be secure if they avoid defeat at the National Speedway Stadium – and even if they lose, defeat for King’s Lynn at Wolverhampton will also be enough for the Tigers.

Belle Vue welcome back Jye Etheridge whilst Simon Lambert guests for the unwell Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen. Sheffield have Kyle Bickley replacing the injured Stefan Nielsen.

Aces captain Steve Worrall said: “I think all the boys are looking forward to the Sheffield meeting. We came very close to a point at Owlerton and I have confidence that we can repeat our early season success on Monday.

“Having Jye back is a big boost, whose form at home is almost irreplaceable and individually everybody is starting to come into their own.

“We now need to make a point of all firing at the same time. Consistency will be crucial come the play-offs and we need to perform to our best every time.”

Tigers boss Simon Stead said: “We’ve got to build on what we’ve done over the last two weeks at home, we had a tough spell there for a while but now we’re looking a lot more competitive and confident on our own track.

“Our away meetings have been good, so if we can build on that this week then we can go into the play-offs full of confidence.”

BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Jye Etheridge, Steve Worrall, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Tom Brennan, Simon Lambert.
