PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v BIRMINGHAM (Champ)

EDINBURGH have confirmed the signing of Drew Kemp ahead of tonight’s (Friday) Championship clash with Birmingham at Armadale.

Kemp has taken the Rising Star berth for the Monarchs in place of Luke Crang after becoming available when Eastbourne withdrew from the league.

He said: “I felt I learnt a lot riding Armadale as a guest last week and it’s a track that I can definitely improve on. It’s good to go to a team which could win something this year and I hope I can add something to the team.”

The Monarchs are still without Richie Worrall and operate rider replacement, whilst the Brummies also have that facility for Valentin Grobauer who crashed at Perry Barr on Wednesday.

And the home side will also be without reserve Nathan Greaves, with Archie Freeman expected to come in as guest.

Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “If we get a good contribution from everyone, we will be fine.

“I want a good win, we were winning comfortably when Birmingham were here in the Cup, and I think we were on our way to a big win.”

EDINBURGH: Sam Masters, Anders Rowe, Kye Thomson, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall r/r, Drew Kemp, Archie Freeman.
BIRMINGHAM: Chris Harris, Valentin Grobauer r/r, James Shanes, Ashley Morris, Erik Riss, Paco Castagna, Jack Thomas.
