PREVIEW: POOLE v BIRMINGHAM (Champ)

POOLE switch to Sunday racing with the visit of Birmingham today (5pm) in an important match towards the Championship play-off race.

The Pirates are top after an excellent recent run whilst the Brummies still harbour hopes of breaking into the top six with matches in hand.

Visiting skipper Chris Harris has been involved in many memorable Wimborne Road races over the years and helped the Pirates to the top-flight title in 2018.

Poole promoter Danny Ford said: “To have Birmingham here for a late afternoon start is a dream come true to be honest.

“Having the chance for families to come along and see, amongst others, Bomber race around Wimborne Road is perfect and it looks as though we could be in for a good day weather-wise.

“We are extremely hard trying to ensure that the track is in tip-top condition, for we know that with the talent we have on show this has all the ingredients of a cracking meeting.”
