PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v NEWCASTLE (Champ)

SCUNTHORPE look to keep their home form going when they host Newcastle in the Championship tonight (Friday).

Wins over Plymouth and Eastbourne have put the Scorpions second in the early league table, and they will be at full strength for the visit of the Diamonds.

The visitors operate rider-replacement for injured No.1 Ben Barker.

Scunthorpe youngster Jordan Palin, who top-scored against Eastbourne, said: “I’m not going to let the meeting last week get the better of me and get too big for my boots.

“I’m just going to get out there against Newcastle and try my hardest and score as many points as I can, but the main thing is that we get a win as a team.

“It seems we were made the underdogs at the start of the season. But speedway is a one in a million sport and anything can happen – if the odds are against you, there’s still a very good chance that you can do it. We’ll continue to give it a really good crack – and see where it takes us this year.”
