PREVIEW: IPSWICH v KING’S LYNN (Prem)
IPSWICH have been hit by injuries ahead of tonight’s (Thursday) Premiership clash with local rivals King’s Lynn at Foxhall.
The Witches had already booked Scott Nicholls to guest for Jason Crump following his crash at Wolverhampton on Monday, and will now use rider-replacement for Jordan Stewart who sustained multiple injuries at Birmingham last night.
Richard Lawson makes his debut for the Stars, against the club for whom he raced in 2019. They operate rider-replacement for Lewis Bridger who is out with illness.
Ipswich boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “We need to win on Thursday and take three points and have another good performance to get straight back on horse as such and straight back into form.
“We can’t overthink Monday’s defeat and we will get straight back into it on Thursday.
“King’s Lynn will come with a team of riders who are very good around Foxhall, so we need to make sure we are on top of our game, as we have been in the last two weeks.”
Lawson said: “I almost joined Lynn in the winter when there was an issue with one of their riders, but it didn’t happen because the situation resolved itself.
“I was happy to talk to them, and when the call came again and they asked if I would still be interested I just said yes straight away. I was without a Premiership team and I jumped at the chance, I’m pleased to be joining up with them.”
