PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v LEICESTER (C-KOC)
SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey says his side will be underdogs going into their KO Cup tie with league champions Leicester.
The Scorpions stage the first leg at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday) and Godfrey is confident they can build on last week’s solid victory over Plymouth.
He said: “Leicester are no doubt a bigger test, because I believe they have put a very good side together.
“The way I see it, we’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, because everyone’s written us off. But as the performance against Plymouth demonstrated, when we’re firing on all cylinders, we will be very hard to beat.
“The weather is set fair this week, so it’s full steam ahead for a glorious evening of action – with hopefully Scorpions coming out on top!”
Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “We want to put a good show on and if we can’t win, I think we can certainly try to keep it tight.
“We’ve got riders who can certainly ride that place, and we’re really looking forward to getting going.”
