DOUGLAS BACK TO LEAD SCORPIONS

SCUNTHORPE have announced the return of high-scoring No.1 Ryan Douglas to complete their septet for the 2023 Championship campaign.

Douglas enjoyed a sensational season for the Scorpions this year after two seasons on loan with Leicester, finishing third in the league averages behind only fellow Australians Sam Masters and Nick Morris.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Of course, we wanted Ryan back – he was an out-and-out No.1 for us and I think it’s going to be exactly the same again.

“He was absolute quality in 2022. He was banging in the points meeting-after-meeting, and I knew we could rely on him if we needed a big result from him in the last race.

“Now our fans can look at the whole team, I think they can see that we’re going to be contenders next season. We’ve got strength all the way down the side, as well as a great No.1 in Ryan who can see us home in tight situations.”
